Chelese Belmont has been one of the most influential people in my academic career. In the three years that I worked with her, she taught me important organizational skills, study methods, and how to clearly express my thoughts in an analytical essay. Chelese has played a key role in my successes throughout my high school career and has just as importantly helped me through my failures. If I had never met Chelese Belmont, I would not be where I am today. I was a C-average student in high school, and Chelese molded and developed me into someone who is capable of receiving mostly A's in my college courses. When I decided to embark on a new phase in my life, I began the daunting process of applying to a highly competitive doctoral program. Given that it was a new and innovative program accepting only 14 applicants, it was important that my application, statement of research interest, personal statement, and resume stood out amongst the hundreds of applicants. Chelese Belmont was able to help me narrow my focus, as she got into my mind and intentions and helped me formulate an application set that was superior. I am happy to say that with Chelese's help, I was accepted and just completed my first semester of my new journey. I look forward to her continued support as I begin the dissertation process.
